Development Transformations (DT) recognizes that a strong and vibrant civil society is essential to a country's pluralism and democratic development. Based on its experience working with (and establishing) civil society organizations throughout the developing world, DT seeks to both 1) develop and grow existing organizations and 2) build a link between government and civil society.
Participating in grassroots civil society organizations allows citizens to contribute to the political process, thereby developing a more active, engaged, and representative citizenry. Civil society organizations, including both non-government organizations and ad hoc, informal groups, provide a crucial link in connecting citizens with government officials, and are often the catalyst behind progressive development.
In its focus on developing civil society organizations and increasing citizen participation, DT works to strengthen individual organizations through staff development, training on issue-based advocacy projects, and developing coalitions of like-minded groups.
DT offers complete assessments of local NGOs, including review of strategic planning, membership planning and recruitment, structure of board of directors/advisors, and operation planning. Additionally, DT brings significant experience with government accountability and monitoring projects.
Establishing effective, trustworthy, and responsive public sector institutions is essential for a state to provide goods, services, and security to its people. DT works with all branches of government—from rural mayors and council members to national representatives and the executive office—to improve staff services and development, strategic planning, constituent relations, operational planning, and overall accountability and transparency.
DT seeks to enhance the efficiency and operational structure of government institutions, leading to an outcome where the government is respected by its citizenry for its ability to provide services.
